Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tool Inspection Engineer to join our Quality Department. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting tooling used in fastener manufacturing, ensuring compliance with quality standards, maintaining inspection records, and supporting production by ensuring tools are in good working condition. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of tool inspection techniques, measuring instruments, and quality systems used in the fastener industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect tooling such as heading dies, punches, thread rolling dies, trimming dies, and other production tools before and after production.
- Verify tool dimensions and specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Identify tool wear, damage, and defects, and recommend repair or replacement.
- Ensure tools meet quality standards before being released to production.
- Maintain inspection reports, calibration records, and tool history.
- Coordinate with the Tool Room, Production, and Quality teams to resolve tooling-related quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling defects affecting product quality.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for tooling-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Monitor tool life and recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce rejection.
- Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain proper identification, storage, and traceability of inspected tools.
- Follow company safety procedures and 5S practices in the inspection area.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of fastener manufacturing processes.
- Experience in inspection of heading tools, punches, dies, and thread rolling tools.
- Proficiency in using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Dial Gauges, Profile Projectors, Toolmaker's Microscope, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and CAPA.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949).
- Good documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Pay: From ₹350,000.00 per year
