Job Summary
The Civil QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with clients, consultants, and construction teams to maintain project quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
- Review project specifications, drawings, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ensure compliance with project quality management procedures.
- Conduct quality audits and monitor implementation of quality systems.
- Verify approval of materials, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Inspect civil works including excavation, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, structural works, and finishing activities.
- Conduct and witness field and laboratory tests for concrete, soil, aggregates, and construction materials.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Monitor concrete placement, curing, and testing activities.
- Inspect reinforcement works before concreting.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, checklists, and test reports.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and monitor corrective actions.
- Coordinate Requests for Inspection (RFIs) with clients and consultants.
- Maintain material traceability and quality documentation.
- Liaise with construction, planning, safety, and client representatives.
- Attend quality meetings and site inspections.
- Support project teams in resolving quality-related issues.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Additional certifications in QA/QC, ISO 9001, or NDT are preferred.
Experience
- 3–10 years of experience in Civil QA/QC.
- Experience in nuclear power, power plants, oil & gas, refinery, industrial, or large infrastructure projects preferred.
- Knowledge of civil construction quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with IS, ASTM, ACI, and project-specific codes.
- Experience with ITPs, Method Statements, RFIs, NCRs, and quality audits.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

Working Conditions

Note: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in industrial construction projects and a strong background in civil quality inspections and documentation.
