Position Overview
Optics & Allied Engg. Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a skilled VMC Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) for manufacturing precision components used in the Aerospace, Defense, Optics, and Industrial Engineering sectors. The candidate should have experience in machining precision components, interpreting engineering drawings, setting up jobs, and ensuring quality and productivity targets are achieved.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation
- Operate Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines for precision machining of components.
- Perform machine setup, tool setting, and workpiece alignment as per job requirements.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
Production Activities
- Execute production as per daily production plans and work orders.
- Achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Minimize machine downtime through proper operation and preventive care.
- Ensure optimum machine utilization.
Quality Control
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Indicator
- Ensure components meet dimensional and quality specifications.
- Report any deviations or quality issues to the Production Supervisor.
Tool & Machine Maintenance
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Monitor cutting tools and replace worn tools as required.
- Maintain coolant levels and lubrication systems.
- Report machine breakdowns or abnormalities promptly.
Documentation
- Maintain production records, machine logbooks, and inspection reports.
- Update work orders and production status accurately.
- Follow traceability requirements for manufactured components.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
- Maintain 5S standards in the work area.
- Adhere to company policies, ISO 9001, AS9100, and other applicable quality standards.
Qualifications
- ITI (Machinist/Turner/Fitter) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience operating VMC machines in a precision manufacturing environment.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
