Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Quantity Surveyor (QS) – MEP to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. The role involves contract administration, cost management, quantity estimation, billing, variation management, subcontractor management, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills to maximize project profitability while minimizing commercial risks.
Candidates with knowledge of contract law, legal documentation, and dispute resolution will have an added advantage.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Contract Administration
- Review, interpret, and administer client and subcontract agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and project obligations.
- Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Maintain all contractual records, correspondence, and documentation.
- Assist in contract negotiations and amendments.
Quantity Surveying & Cost Management
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates for MEP works.
- Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and expenditure.
- Conduct cost analysis and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Track project costs to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
Variation & Claims Management
- Identify variations and prepare variation orders.
- Prepare cost impact analysis for scope changes.
- Support preparation and submission of extension of time (EOT) claims and commercial claims.
- Maintain records to support contractual claims and dispute resolution.
Tendering & Procurement Support
- Review BOQs, tender documents, and technical specifications.
- Assist in preparing commercial bids and tender evaluations.
- Participate in subcontractor selection and commercial negotiations.
- Evaluate quotations and recommend cost-effective procurement strategies.
Commercial Reporting
- Prepare periodic commercial reports including:
- Cost-to-complete reports
- Budget variance reports
- Cash flow forecasts
- Revenue and profitability analysis
- Present commercial updates to management.
Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, finance, and clients regarding contractual and commercial matters.
- Attend project review and commercial meetings.
- Support site teams in resolving contractual issues.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete documentation related to contracts, variations, invoices, claims, and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and contractual procedures.
- Support audits related to commercial and contractual records.
Required Qualifications
- Any Master’s Degree.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Contract Administration in MEP projects.
- Experience in EPC, Infrastructure, Industrial, Commercial, or High-Rise Building Projects is preferred.
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
