Job Description
The role i*nvolves testing, grading, and sorting lithium-ion cells* based on parameters like voltage, capacity, internal resistance, and performance before they are used in battery pack assembly. This ensures uniformity, safety, and efficiency of battery packs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cell Grading (Testing & Classification)
Measure and record:
Voltage (OCV – Open Circuit Voltage)
Capacity (Ah/Mah)
Internal Resistance (IR)
Operate battery testing machines / grading machines
Classify cells into grades (A, B, C) based on test results
Identify defective or low-performance cells
2. Cell Sorting (Grouping & Matching)
Sort cells based on:
Similar voltage
Same capacity range
Matching internal resistance
Create matched cell groups for battery pack assembly
Ensure cell balancing and performance consistency
3. Machine Operation & Monitoring
Operate:
Cell grading machines
Charge-discharge systems
Monitor testing cycles and machine parameters
Report machine issues or abnormalities
4. Data Recording & Documentation
Maintain records of:
Test results
Grading reports
Rejected cells
Update Excel / system data (basic computer work)
Ensure traceability of cell batches
5. Quality Control
Ensure only approved graded cells move to production
Follow SOPs for testing and sorting
Reject damaged, swollen, or unsafe cells
6. Safety & Handling
Handle lithium cells carefully to avoid:
Short circuits
Physical damage
Overheating
Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions
Use PPE (gloves, safety gear)
