Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Construction Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, supervising project teams, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, controlling project timelines and budgets, and delivering projects that meet client expectations.
The Construction Manager will coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, procurement teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure the successful execution of residential, commercial, and turnkey construction projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Plan, organize, and manage construction activities from project initiation to handover.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved specifications.
- Monitor daily site activities and resolve operational issues promptly.
Site Management
- Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and labour teams.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, machinery, and equipment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality and progress.
- Coordinate site logistics and maintain smooth workflow across multiple projects.
Quality Control
- Ensure construction work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship and implement quality assurance procedures.
- Identify defects and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Coordinate inspections and quality audits.
Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor project budgets and control construction costs.
- Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor to verify quantities, bills, and cost reports.
- Review material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Approve site expenses within delegated authority and report cost variances.
Procurement & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement for timely supply of materials and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and material requirements.
- Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Promote a safe working environment and investigate incidents when required.
- Ensure compliance with local building regulations and statutory requirements.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Attend project review meetings with clients, consultants, and management.
- Provide regular progress updates and resolve client concerns.
- Coordinate with architects and consultants regarding design clarifications and site changes.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Maintain site records, inspection reports, material records, and project documentation.
- Monitor project KPIs and submit reports to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 8–12 years of experience in construction project execution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Construction Manager or Senior Site Engineer role.
- Experience in residential, commercial, villa, apartment, or institutional projects is preferred.
