Manager – Purchase (Import & Export)
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Purchase Manager – Import & Export (Impex) to manage procurement activities, supplier relationships, international sourcing, and import/export operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely availability of materials, cost-effective purchasing, compliance with import regulations, and smooth coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end purchase activities for domestic and international requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Handle import procurement processes, including supplier coordination, documentation, and shipment tracking.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production and project requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics, finance, stores, and production teams for smooth material flow.
- Manage import documentation including purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and customs-related paperwork.
- Monitor international shipments and coordinate with freight forwarders and customs agents.
- Ensure compliance with import/export policies, regulations, and company procedures.
- Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor databases, and procurement reports.
- Lead and guide the purchase team to improve efficiency and process control.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in purchase management, import/export, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of international procurement processes and documentation.
- Good understanding of vendor management, negotiation, and cost control.
- Knowledge of customs procedures, freight handling, and logistics coordination.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate should have strong Impex and procurement experience with the ability to optimize purchasing processes, manage supplier relationships, and ensure timely availability of materials at competitive costs.
