Reports To: Security Supervisor / Security Manager
Shift Type: Rotational (Includes night shifts, weekends, and holidays)
Job Purpose: To protect the hotel's premises, assets, guests, and staff by maintaining a highly visible, professional, and vigilant presence. The ideal candidate must enforce safety regulations discreetly and efficiently without disrupting the premium guest experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Patrol and Surveillance
- Conduct regular foot patrols across all hotel corridors, lobby areas, guest floors, and perimeter grounds.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance networks and alarm systems continuously to spot suspicious activities.
- Inspect secondary entry points, emergency exits, windows, and gates to verify they are locked and secure.
- Perform routine safety checks on fire hazards, water leaks, and malfunctioning security systems.
2. Access and Traffic Control
- Manage access control at entry checkpoints, verifying the identities of staff, suppliers, and visitors.
- Screen and log incoming/outgoing vendor vehicles, employee arrivals, and contractor equipment.
- Oversee traffic flow and vehicle parking areas to ensure fire lanes and VIP parking remain clear.
- Prevent unauthorized persons, solicitors, or unruly individuals from entering the premises.
3. Guest Relations and Support
- Greet all guests with a warm, professional, and hospitable demeanor.
- Assist guests with emergency requests, such as decoding malfunctioning in-room electronic safes.
- Provide protective escort services for staff or cashiers handling large cash transfers across the property.
- Tag, log, and process items turned into the hotel's "Lost and Found" department.
4. Emergency Response and Reporting
- Act as the immediate first responder during medical emergencies, fires, natural disasters, or physical confrontations.
- Coordinate directly with local law enforcement, fire departments, or medical units when necessary.
- Direct and execute calm emergency evacuation procedures for guests and staff during crises.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and file formal, detailed incident reports for any security or safety breaches.
Required Skills and Qualifications Experience & Education
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in Hotel Management or Criminology is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a security guard, ideally in a 4-star or 5-star hotel, or a high-end corporate setting. Military or law enforcement background is highly valued.
- Licensure: Valid state security guard license or registration, as required by regional legislation.
