About the Position
Neuro Care Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Resident in Anaesthesia to join our clinical team. The candidate will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality anaesthesia and peri-operative care, with particular emphasis on neurosurgical and neurocritical care procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative assessment and anaesthesia planning for surgical patients.
- Administer and monitor general, regional, and appropriate sedation techniques under established protocols.
- Provide anaesthesia support for neurosurgical procedures, including elective and emergency cases.
- Manage airway, ventilation, haemodynamic status, and peri-operative physiological parameters.
- Assist in the management of critically ill and high-risk patients in the ICU and Neuro ICU.
- Provide peri-operative pain management and post-operative care.
- Respond to anaesthesia-related emergencies and participate in resuscitation/critical care activities.
- Perform procedures such as airway management, arterial/central venous access and other procedures within the scope of training and hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate anaesthesia records, patient documentation, consent and peri-operative notes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital infection-control, patient-safety and clinical protocols.
- Coordinate effectively with neurosurgeons, neurologists, intensivists, nursing staff and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in emergency/on-call duties as per the hospital roster.
- Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching and academic activities.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council/authority.
- Good clinical judgement, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Desired Skills.
- Strong knowledge of general and neuro-anaesthesia.
- Competence in airway management and peri-operative monitoring.
- Ability to manage critically ill and emergency patients.
- Good understanding of neurophysiology and neurocritical care.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently during emergencies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and ethical clinical practice.
