We are looking for an organised, reliable and proactive Construction Project Manager to help manage a UK-based construction project from home in India.
The successful candidate will coordinate contractors and suppliers, monitor project progress, obtain and compare prices, order approved materials, track deliveries and follow up on delays. The role will also include general administration, expense tracking and limited support with cards and banking tasks.
The person must be confident speaking with UK contractors, suppliers and delivery companies by phone and email. They should be able to work independently, keep accurate records and ensure that tasks are followed through to completion.
Main ResponsibilitiesProject Management
- Maintain the construction project schedule, task list and deadlines.
- Contact contractors and tradespeople for progress updates.
- Coordinate appointments, deliveries and access to the property.
- Follow up on delayed work and outstanding tasks.
- Request photographs, videos and written updates from the site.
- Record project issues, decisions, delays and additional costs.
- Provide regular progress reports.
- Highlight urgent problems or decisions to the project owner.
- Ensure contractors and suppliers complete agreed actions on time.
Purchasing and Price Comparison
- Research suitable UK suppliers for materials, tools and services.
- Request quotations from different suppliers.
- Compare prices, product quality, specifications, delivery fees and delivery times.
- Present price comparisons for approval before placing orders.
- Order approved materials and equipment.
- Keep records of quotations, orders, receipts and invoices.
- Look for cost-saving opportunities without reducing the required quality.
Deliveries and Supplier Follow-Up
- Track all orders and expected delivery dates.
- Call suppliers and delivery companies for updates.
- Confirm that someone will be available to receive deliveries.
- Follow up on late, damaged, missing or incorrect items.
- Arrange authorised returns, replacements, refunds and collections.
- Maintain an up-to-date order and delivery tracker.
Contractor and Supplier Communication
- Communicate with builders, electricians, plumbers, decorators and other trades.
- Confirm prices, work details, start dates and completion dates in writing.
- Chase unanswered calls, emails and quotations.
- Keep clear notes of conversations and agreed actions.
- Maintain an organised list of contractor and supplier contact details.
- Help find alternative contractors or suppliers when required.
Banking, Cards and Expense Administration
- Record project-related purchases, invoices, receipts and refunds.
- Match card and bank transactions with invoices and receipts.
- Update the project budget and expense tracker.
- Identify incorrect charges, duplicate payments or missing refunds.
- Prepare payments for the project owner to review and approve.
- Contact suppliers regarding billing errors or refunds.
- Assist with authorised administrative communication with banks or card providers.
- Handle all financial information confidentially.
The Project Manager will not have unrestricted control of bank accounts. Final payment approval will remain with the project owner. Bank PINs, passwords and one-time security codes must not be shared.
General Administration
- Manage calendars, reminders and appointments.
- Organise project emails, documents and online folders.
- Prepare meeting notes, call notes and task lists.
- Draft emails and messages to contractors and suppliers.
- Follow up on all outstanding actions.
- Maintain accurate and organised project records.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in construction project management, project coordination, property management, procurement or administration.
- Experience dealing with UK contractors and suppliers.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- Good attention to detail and numerical ability.
- Experience comparing quotations and managing orders.
- Ability to use spreadsheets, email and online project-management systems.
- Ability to work independently from home.
- High level of honesty, reliability and confidentiality.
- Availability during agreed UK working hours.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable home-working environment.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of construction materials and UK trade terminology.
- Experience working with builders, plumbers, electricians and building merchants.
- Experience with invoices, expenses, bookkeeping or accounts payable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Trello, Asana, Monday.com or similar systems.
- Experience managing returns, refunds and supplier disputes.
Working Arrangement
- Fully remote, work-from-home position.
- The project is based in the UK.
- The person must be available during agreed UK business hours.
- Communication will take place by telephone, email, messaging and video calls.
- No regular site attendance is required, although occasional attendance may be agreed separately.
- The role may be part-time or full-time depending on the project’s needs.
Pay: ₹23,458.37 - ₹92,972.32 per month
