Job Description – Business Head (Agro Commodities)
Location - Mumbai
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Business Head – Agro Commodities to lead and expand our agro commodities business operations. The candidate will be responsible for business growth, procurement, trading, sales strategy, market expansion, profitability, and team management across domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate should possess strong industry knowledge in agro commodities, edible oils, grains, pulses, spices, or related products.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy
- Develop and execute business strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets
- Identify new market opportunities and expand customer base
- Build long-term relationships with traders, distributors, exporters, importers, and institutional buyers
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and commodity pricing
- Should be able to achieve targets set by the HQ
- Generate Revenue and sales
- Should be ready to travel across pan india
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Oversee procurement of agro commodities from domestic and international markets
- Ensure efficient inventory planning and supply chain coordination
- Manage vendor negotiations, contracts, and sourcing strategies
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery
- Should do procurement for pulses / spices / agro commodities
Sales & Trading
- Lead domestic and export sales operations
- Handle commodity trading activities with focus on risk management and margins
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with clients
- Ensure achievement of sales volume and collection targets
- Controlling all sales personnel pan india
Financial & Operational Management
- Monitor business P&L, budgeting, and cost optimization
- Prepare business forecasts, MIS reports, and performance analysis
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Drive operational efficiency across departments
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor sales, procurement, and operations teams
- Set KPIs and monitor team performance
- Coordinate cross-functional activities for smooth business execution
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Commerce, or related field
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in agro commodities business/trading
- Strong knowledge of edible oils, grains, pulses, spices, or related commodities
- Experience in import/export operations will be an added advantage
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹1,993,540.60 per month
