Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Elevator / Lift Testing & Commissioning Technician responsible for testing, adjustment, troubleshooting, commissioning, and final handover of elevator systems.
The candidate should have good practical knowledge of elevator electrical systems, control panels, door systems, safety circuits, sensors, limit switches, and lift operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out testing and commissioning of elevators after completion of installation.
- Inspect the complete elevator installation before starting commissioning.
- Check elevator wiring, control panel connections, safety circuits, and electrical components.
- Verify and test all safety devices and interlocks.
- Perform elevator door adjustment, alignment, and commissioning.
- Adjust door operator parameters and ensure smooth opening and closing.
- Check and adjust leveling accuracy at all floors.
- Perform up/down travel testing and verify smooth elevator operation.
- Test acceleration, deceleration, stopping, leveling, and floor-to-floor operation.
- Check and adjust lift speed and related operating parameters as required.
- Test landing door locks, car door locks, door sensors, and safety circuits.
- Test limit switches, final limit switches, inspection operation, and emergency functions.
- Test overload and other programmed safety functions.
- Check brake operation and brake voltage as per system requirements.
- Check encoder/sensor feedback and related signals where applicable.
- Carry out fault diagnosis using the elevator controller/drive and rectify errors.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and wiring-related problems.
- Configure and adjust controller and VFD/drive parameters as required.
- Perform auto-tuning and motor-related commissioning procedures where applicable.
- Check emergency rescue/ARD operation where provided.
- Test alarm bell, emergency light, intercom/telephone, and other emergency features.
- Conduct final operational testing before handover to the customer.
- Coordinate with installation technicians and supervisors to rectify pending installation issues.
- Maintain commissioning checklists and testing records.
- Report technical problems, material requirements, and site issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure the lift is operating safely and according to company standards before handover.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related technical field preferred.
- 1–5 years of practical experience in elevator testing and commissioning preferred.
- Strong knowledge of elevator electrical and control systems.
- Good understanding of elevator safety circuits and interlocks.
- Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of control panels, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, and electrical protection devices.
- Knowledge of elevator VFD/drive and controller parameter settings is preferred.
- Ability to use a multimeter and other electrical testing instruments.
- Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to perform door adjustment and leveling correction.
- Knowledge of elevator safety components and their testing procedures.
- Ability to work at height and in different site conditions.
- Physically fit and willing to travel to project locations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Valid driving licence is an advantage.

- Insulation/resistance testing equipment where required
- Standard electrical and mechanical hand tools
- Laptop/programming tools where applicable
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, safety-conscious, and capable of independently commissioning and troubleshooting an elevator.
Candidates who have only installation/erection experience but do not have practical testing and commissioning experience will not be preferred for this position.
