Position Overview
The Manager - Infra will be responsible for leading the University’s IT infrastructure strategy and operations across campuses, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable technology services to support academic, research, and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Architecture
- Define and implement the IT infrastructure roadmap covering network, cloud, data center, and classroom technology.
- Plan and drive infrastructure improvements to ensure scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Infrastructure Operations
- Manage multi-campus networks, Wi-Fi infrastructure, servers, storage, AV systems, and helpdesk operations.
- Ensure reliable and high-quality IT infrastructure services across the University.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and maintain appropriate cybersecurity controls across IT infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and CERT-In directives.
- Establish and maintain Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Projects
- Oversee hybrid cloud environments, virtualization, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and operational handover.
- Application & Identity Infrastructure
- Support hosting and infrastructure requirements for SIS, ERP, and LMS platforms.
- Manage and support identity management technologies, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Vendor & Budget Management
- Manage infrastructure vendors, contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Handle infrastructure procurement and cost optimization, including processes involving GeM/GFR where applicable.
- Governance & Leadership
- Establish and implement IT infrastructure policies, standards, and procedures.
- Lead the infrastructure team and collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and address technology requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10–12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership/managerial role.
- Experience managing large-scale networks, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity environments.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of networking, including Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and SD-WAN.
- Knowledge of network security, including firewalls, SIEM, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of ITIL practices.
- Familiarity with ERP/LMS platforms and classroom AV technology.
Certifications (Preferred)
- CCNP / CCIE
- CISSP / CISM
- AWS / Azure Architect certifications
- ITIL v4
