Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Finance Manager / Senior Cost Accountant to own detailed product costing, work-in-process accounting, manufacturing-loss analysis, inventory valuation, and profitability reporting for our haircare and facial skincare products at our Snowberry.kr division.
This is a hands-on cost-accounting position for someone who can determine what every SKU should cost, what it actually cost, where costs accumulated during production, why variances occurred, who is responsible, and how each financial impact should be recorded or recovered.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed bills of materials and standard costs for every SKU and product revision.
- Capture formula, raw-material, packaging, printing, decoration, filling, assembly, inspection, testing, freight, duty, warehousing, and landed costs.
- Validate units of measure, pack sizes, fill weights, production quantities, component usage, yield assumptions, and approved production overages.
- Calculate actual production costs by SKU, batch, customer order, supplier, and factory.
- Own WIP accounting for bulk formula, components issued to production, partially completed goods, finished products awaiting QA release, rework, relabeling, repacking, and inventory held at contract manufacturers.
- Reconcile WIP by SKU, batch, production order, factory, production stage, quantity, and financial value.
- Reconcile production deposits, accrued factory charges, uninvoiced receipts, issued materials, remaining components, bulk inventory, completed output, and finished-goods receipts.
- Investigate aged, stalled, negative, duplicated, or unexplained WIP balances.
- Ensure all materials issued to production are accounted for as finished goods, remaining inventory, approved loss, rework, quarantine, or recoverable damage.
- Compare theoretical production consumption and yield against actual results.
- Analyze purchase-price, material-usage, formula-yield, filling-yield, scrap, rework, freight, duty, exchange-rate, WIP, and inventory variances.
- Quantify all production losses, including bulk loss, overfilling, setup waste, damaged components, defective packaging, rejected finished goods, sorting, rework, repacking, relabeling, and destruction.
- Separate normal production loss from abnormal or recoverable loss.
- Determine the financial impact and accountable party for supplier defects, factory damage, freight damage, warehouse damage, and unexplained shortages.
- Prepare financial support for supplier and factory chargebacks, debit notes, credits, replacements, and insurance claims.
- Track recoveries until the credit, replacement, refund, or payment has been received and recorded.
- Calculate complete landed cost, including freight, customs, duties, brokerage, insurance, handling, drayage, and warehouse receiving.
- Reconcile raw materials, components, bulk, WIP, finished goods, goods in transit, quarantine, damaged inventory, and the general ledger.
- Calculate profitability by SKU, customer, production order, and product launch.
- Support new-product costing and provide financial approval before mass-production release.
- Establish cost-accounting policies, WIP controls, variance categories, loss documentation, write-off controls, and production-order close procedures.
- Partner with NPI, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Production QA, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation or cost-accounting certification preferred
- Seven or more years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, inventory accounting, or operational finance
- Strong knowledge of BOMs, standard costing, actual costing, WIP accounting, landed costs, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, and gross-margin analysis

- Significant variances supported by a documented root cause
- Recoverable losses entered into a chargeback or claims process
- Production orders closed without unexplained WIP, inventory, or cost differences
- Improved chargeback recovery and reduced recurring losses
- Accurate profitability reporting by SKU, customer, and production order
