The opportunity:
As an Embedded Test Engineer, you will be part of Operation Center, India (INOPC-PG), aiming to develop a global value chain, where key business activities, resources, and expertise are shared across geographic boundaries to optimize value for Hitachi Energy customers across markets. As part of Transformers BU, we provide high-quality engineering and Technology to Hitachi Energy world. This is an important step from Hitachi Energy's Global Footprint strategy.
How you’ll make an impact:
Design, develop, and execute test strategies for embedded systems and sensor-based devices.
Develop automated test scripts using Python for validating embedded software and device communication.
Validate embedded firmware functionality, including hardware-software integration. Configure and test embedded sensors and industrial field devices.
Perform functional, integration, and system-level testing for embedded products. Test and validate communication protocols such as RS485 and TCP/IP.
Work with industrial protocols like IEC61850 (added advantage). Develop and maintain test setups including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or simulation environments.
Analyze logs, debug issues, and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects. Document test cases, results, and processes to ensure traceability and reproducibility.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and frameworks. Ensure compliance with internal standards, quality processes, and safety guidelines.
Write good quality documentation for data processing for different projects to ensure reproducibility.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in embedded systems testing or validation. Strong understanding of embedded systems, firmware, and hardware interactions.
Hands-on experience with Python for scripting, automation, or testing. Experience in configuring and testing embedded sensors or industrial devices.
Knowledge of communication protocols such as RS485 and TCP/IP. Understanding of industrial protocols like IEC61850 is a plus.
Experience with debugging and analysis tools (oscilloscope, serial analyzers, protocol analyzers) is an advantage.
Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
