Job Summary
Urban King Hotel is looking for a responsible and trustworthy Cashier to manage billing operations, handle guest payments, maintain accurate cash records, and provide excellent customer service. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant and banquet environment while ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions. Cashiers in hospitality environments are typically responsible for billing, cash handling, POS operations, daily reconciliation, and guest query resolution.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & POS Operations
- Generate bills accurately through the POS system.
- Process cash, UPI, card, and other digital payments.
- Ensure all orders are billed correctly before settlement.
- Handle banquet, restaurant, takeaway, and room-service billing.
Cash Handling
- Maintain cash float and cash drawer throughout the shift.
- Count and reconcile cash at the beginning and end of duty.
- Prepare daily cash reports and submit them to management.
- Report any discrepancies immediately to the Operations Manager. Cash reconciliation and balancing of cash drawers are standard cashier responsibilities.
Guest Service
- Greet guests politely during billing and payment.
- Resolve billing-related queries professionally.
- Coordinate with captains, stewards, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
Record Keeping
- Maintain daily sales reports and transaction records.
- Ensure all bills, voids, discounts, and complimentary entries are properly authorized and documented.
- Support management during audits and stock verification when required.
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter.
- Monitor POS equipment and report technical issues promptly.
- Follow company policies regarding cash handling and fraud prevention.
- Assist management in any operational task assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12th Pass; Graduate preferred.
- 1–3 years experience as a Cashier in a Hotel, Restaurant, Dhaba, or Retail Outlet.
- Basic knowledge of computers, MS Excel, and POS software.
- Good numerical and communication skills.
- Honest, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
