Data Engineer -Kraft Heinz
Key responsibilities

Contribute to the design, delivery and maintenance of appropriate data solutions to provide the correct data for analytical development to address key issues within the organisation.

Gather detailed data requirements and collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver high quality results (such as Tableau developers, analysts, business users).

Work closely with peer data engineers on a regular basis, participating in code reviews and team-based delivery.

Support the development and operation of modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end-to-end data solutions.

Contribute to shared frameworks for data ingestion, processing, and integrations where appropriate, growing toward independent framework work over time.

Extend DevOps capabilities for deploying data solutions.

Support creation and adoption of data assets for the organisation, putting data quality as the focus of all data solutions.

Act as a data owner and functional data subject matter expert for the assigned area.

Seek and act on feedback from senior engineers to accelerate growth and improve code quality.

Ensure effective and timely delivery of project work, raising issues and risks in a timely manner to the project manager to ensure appropriate actions can be taken to mitigate.

Develops familiarity with data design principles and architecture patterns, applying best practices under the guidance of senior engineers.
Qualifications & experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Information Technology, or related field

5 to 8 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related technical role; recent graduates with strong project work considered

Beginner exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) — willingness to develop deeper cloud and DevOps skills on the job

Foundational SQL proficiency — able to write and read queries with support; familiarity with tools such as dbt or Snowflake is a plus

Beginner to intermediate Python — able to read and write pipeline code with support from senior engineers; JavaScript and R are a plus

Experience building APIs is desirable; experience with GraphQL is a plus

Awareness of DevOps and CI/CD concepts; hands-on experience is a plus but not required

Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Ability to manage own tasks and deadlines; strong communication skills

Self-starter, driven with high business process acumen

Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work across different business stakeholder and technical teams to accomplish complex tasks
