About the Role
The Transport & Operations Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of the school’s transport system as well coordinate daily operational requirements of the school, including vendor follow-ups, material movement, basic facility support, and other on-ground running around needed to keep the center functioning smoothly.
Preferred Background and Experience
- Undergraduate degree / diploma in any discipline
- 3-5 experience in school transport management or a related field is compulsory
- Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and repair coordination
- Good spoken Telugu & English
- Should own a two-wheeler for local commuting, as required by the school
- Serve as a backup driver in emergencies
- Familiarity with GPS and routing software for real-time transport coordination
- Experience in supervising drivers
- Should be based within reasonable commuting distance (5-7 km) of our Kokapet centre; Willingness to relocate closer to the school, if needed
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Operations
- Plan, review, and optimise transport routes for safety, efficiency, and timeliness
- Manage daily operations for school vehicles and/or outsourced vehicles
- Use GPS and routing tools to track routes and ensure real-time coordination
- Monitor route adherence, punctuality, and transport service quality
- Step in quickly to resolve operational disruptions, delays, or route issues
Driver Supervision
- Recruit, train & supervise bus drivers
- Manage driver duty schedules, attendance, and route allocation
- Conduct regular performance audits and ensure compliance with school rules
- Address concerns related to driver conduct, unsafe driving, or other issues
- Maintain discipline, accountability, and professionalism across the transport team
Vehicle Maintenance
- Oversee routine maintenance of buses and other transport vehicles
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and repairs
- Conduct or monitor pre-trip safety checks and related documentation
- Coordinate all repairs to ensure vehicles return to service as quickly as possible
Facility Coordination
- Support basic facility management and upkeep across the school where required
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors such as plumbers, electricians, and other service providers
