Position: Finance Controller
Location: Bangalore (Work from Office)
Reporting To: Chairman & CEO
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
Prior experience in the education sector is highly preferred.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven and detail-oriented Finance Controller to lead the finance and compliance function for a fast-growing multi-campus education group. This role requires a Chartered Accountant with strong exposure to the education sector, statutory compliance, multi-entity accounting, taxation, audit management, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating in a high-ownership, fast-paced environment and should be capable of building strong financial systems, driving controls, and managing finance operations across multiple entities/campuses.
This is a leadership role with direct responsibility for managing a team of 10+ finance and accounts professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1/ Financial Control & Accounting
▶ Oversee end-to-end finance and accounting operations across multiple entities/campuses.
▶ Ensure accurate bookkeeping, ledger scrutiny, reconciliations, and closure of books monthly.
▶ Manage consolidation of financials across group entities.
2/ Statutory Compliance & Taxation
▶ Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all statutory requirements including:
o GST
o TDS
o Income Tax
o PF/ESI
▶ Handle statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and regulatory assessments independently.
▶ Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and legal/tax advisors.
3/ Audit & Governance
▶ Lead audit preparedness across all entities.
▶ Ensure implementation and monitoring of SOPs and compliance frameworks.
▶ Identify financial and compliance risks and proactively recommend corrective actions.
4/ MIS & Financial Reporting
▶ Prepare monthly MIS, financial dashboards, and management reports for leadership.
▶ Present insights on:
o Fee reconciliations
o Cash flow
o Budget vs actuals
o Entity-wise financial performance
5/ Team Leadership
▶ Lead, mentor, and manage a finance and accounts team of 10+ members.
▶ Drive accountability, process ownership, and operational efficiency within the team.
▶ Coordinate closely with campus operations and leadership stakeholders.
6/ Systems & Process Management
▶ Work extensively on Tally and JODO ERP systems.
▶ Improve finance workflows, automation, reporting structures, and operational controls.
▶ Support implementation of scalable finance processes for future growth.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
▶ Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
▶ 3–5+ years of post-qualification experience.
▶ Prior experience in the education sector is highly preferred.
▶ Strong exposure to statutory compliance, taxation, and audit management.
▶ Prior team handling experience.
Preferred Skills
▶ Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance frameworks.
▶ High ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
▶ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
▶ Proficiency in Tally, JODO, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.
