Job Overview:
United Way Mumbai’s School Adoption Project aims to foster the holistic development and academic growth of students by creating an enabling learning environment in low-income and government schools. The project focuses on improving students’ academic performance and learning outcomes through structured educational support, strengthening STEM learning through innovative teaching techniques and resources, and engaging qualified teachers to introduce effective classroom practices and build the capacities of students and school stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities

Manage activities and deliverables of United Way Mumbai’s Project School Adoption Project.

Conduct daily remedial classes for children in schools and community centres assigned to you.

Create grade-level lesson plans based on the subjects and grades assigned to you.

Contribute towards enabling the children to reach grade-level mastery through in-class support.

Contribute towards the holistic development of the children through conducting regular and/or needs-based meetings with parents/guardians.

Conduct need-based home visits.

Develop strong connections with the community to understand its needs, concerns, and aspirations. Serve as a bridge between the community and the organization to cultivate collaboration and trust.

Garner support from parents for their participation in various project activities.

Document the project activities and outcomes on a regular basis and submit the project status report to the UWM team as per the committed timelines.

Maintain transparent communication with the UWM team, providing regular updates on project progress,

challenges, and successes.
Profile Requisites:
-
Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences/Education (specialization in Education will be preferred).

Candidates with a B.Ed. degree will be preferred.

Minimum of 2–3 years of work experience, especially in teaching and on-ground implementation of projects. Candidates with experience working with NGOs will have an added advantage.

A dynamic and versatile person who can easily connect and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders of the project.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Efficient in community outreach and mobilization.

Must be proficient in communicating in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu.

Must be a team player and willing to travel to implement programme activities.
Remuneration: Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit; the salary is 25,000 - 32,000 per month
