- The Opportunity: UST is looking Firmware Validation Engineers
Key Responsibilities – Firmware Validation & Python Automation
1. Firmware Validation & Strategy
- Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for firmware subsystems (e.g., BIOS / UEFI / NVME / Bootloader / PCIe/ USB stacks / Memory Controllers).
- Deep Debugging: Root-cause complex system-level failures using JTAG, GDB, Oscilloscopes, and Logic Analyzers.
- Hardware Bring-up: Collaborate with Silicon and HW teams during early stage board bring-up.
- Protocol Analysis: Validate low-level communication protocols.
2. Python Automation Framework Development
- Design and maintain a modular, object-oriented Python test framework (using pytest or Robot Framework) that interacts with hardware interfaces.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Must-Haves:
- Python Expert: Mastery of Python, including OOP, decorators, context managers, and libraries.
- Hardware Interfacing: Experience using Python to control hardware via APIs or low-level register access.
- Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in unit, functional, regression, stress, and performance testing for embedded systems.
