A spices and masala factory supervisor oversees daily manufacturing, ensuring raw materials are processed into packaged masala safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. They act as the vital bridge between floor workers and senior management
1. Production & Workflow Management
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Ensure the smooth operation of cleaning, roasting, grinding, blending, and packaging machines. Adjust workflows in real-time to prevent delays and meet target outputs.
2. Quality Assurance & Food Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, managing processes according to guidelines like HACCP and ISO. Monitor critical control points, such as moisture content, grinding temperatures, and particle size. Enforce personal hygiene rules, including the use of hairnets, gloves, and aprons for all floor staff.
3. Inventory & Resource Management
- Oversee stock levels of raw spices (e.g., chili, turmeric, coriander), packaging materials, and printed pouches. Ensure ERP system entries and logbooks are accurately maintained. Coordinate with the procurement and supply chain departments to prevent material shortages.
4. Equipment Maintenance & Upkeep
- Conduct routine inspections of processing equipment (grinders, sieves, and automated packaging lines). Coordinate with the maintenance team to quickly resolve mechanical breakdowns and minimize downtime.
5. Team Leadership & Training
- Allocate manpower efficiently across various workstations (roasting, grinding, packing). Train new hires on standard operating procedures (SOPs), machine operation, and safety protocols. Evaluate team performance, manage attendance, and foster a positive, productive work environment.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce occupational health and safety standards. Ensure the facility is kept highly sanitary, pest-free, and audit-ready at all times
