Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience in fabrication, machining, fitting, and assembly of mechanical equipment. The role involves supporting workshop activities as well as field and sailing assignments, ensuring quality execution, safety, and timely completion of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication, machining, fitting, and assembly of mechanical components and equipment.
- Operate manual lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, threading, and turning machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, fits, and tolerances.
- Carry out assembly, repair, maintenance, and testing of mechanical equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of workshop machinery.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned jobs while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain workshop tools, machines, and equipment in good working condition.
- Support workshop operations, buoy-related activities, and sailing assignments as required.
- Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Educational Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) – Mandatory
Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in fabrication, machining, fitting, and workshop operations.
Technical Skills
- Experience in fabrication, fitting, and assembly.
- Hands-on experience in manual lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, threading, and turning operations.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, fits, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of Mild Steel (MS) and Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316).
- Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Preferred Requirements
- Willingness to travel and undertake sailing assignments.
- Ability to work in workshop, field, and onboard environments.
