Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and confident Field Reporter to cover breaking news, events, and on-ground stories across Delhi NCR. The ideal candidate should possess strong reporting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to deliver live reports from the field. The reporter will work closely with the editorial team to gather accurate information and produce engaging news content.
Key Responsibilities
- Cover breaking news, political, social, crime, business, entertainment, and public interest stories.
- Conduct on-ground reporting and live news coverage.
- Gather facts, verify information, and interview relevant sources.
- Write clear, concise, and accurate news scripts and reports.
- Coordinate with the newsroom and assignment desk for story planning.
- Deliver live updates and stand-ups confidently on camera.
- Capture relevant visuals when required and coordinate with camera operators.
- Ensure all reports comply with journalistic ethics and editorial guidelines.
- Maintain relationships with local authorities, officials, and reliable news sources.
- Travel extensively within Delhi NCR and nearby areas for assignments.
Required Skills
- Excellent spoken and written Hindi (English proficiency is an advantage).
- Strong news sense and ability to identify impactful stories.
- Confident camera presence and live reporting skills.
- Good interviewing and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Familiarity with digital news platforms and social media reporting.
- Basic knowledge of mobile journalism (MoJo) is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Field Reporter (Freshers with exceptional reporting skills may also apply).
Requirements
- Must own a two-wheeler or four-wheeler with a valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Delhi NCR.
- Flexible to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and during breaking news situations.
- Strong professional ethics and commitment to factual reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with live television reporting.
- Existing network of local contacts and sources.
- Knowledge of video shooting and basic editing is an added advantage.
