Job purpose

To ensure the smooth functioning of the plant in order to achieve the budgeted production for the year. To minimize the break downs of the machines to ensure delivery of plant capacity as per KPI. To ensure that all the asset in the plant is in the good condition. To drive safety and environment initiatives.

Key responsibilities
|
Maintenance and productivity:
- Maintaining all the machines in plant to ensure maximum uptime.
- Tune up the machinery to ensure delivery of budgeted capacities.
- Review the performance with team members regularly and try set in place a continuous improvement system for down time and capacity delivery.
- To set up preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with them.
Quality:
- Make all the utilities available in the required quality to ensure required quality standards of the product.
- To maintain machines in proper condition that will ensure quality of the product.
Efficiency:
- Ensuring delivery of budgeted capacities.
- Maintaining consumption of utilities including power, fuel, water, CO2, air within budgeted targets.
- Minimize downtime and deliver targeted uptimes.
Cost and cost control:
- To keep the repair and maintenance cost within budgeted amount.
- Ensure energy and utility costs are within budget.
Safety, Environment and statutory compliance:
- Drive Safety as the designated Safety Officer.
- Develop safety systems including safety check lists, safety audits, safety committees to ensure highest levels of safety in the plant.
- Conducting periodic safety audits of pressure vessels, boilers, electrical equipment and getting license renewal for CO2, FO HSD storage etc.
- Oversee operation of the ETP.
- Ensure compliance with PCB norms.
- Set in place a system for monitoring and continuously reducing impact on the environment.
- Ensure Statutory compliance.
Projects:
- To coordinate with HO and monitor implementation of projects.
- Identify areas which need improvement and plan projects in these areas in coordination with unit head and HO projects.
- Prepare estimates, make capex requests, follow up for approval and ordering and monitor implementation.
Self and subordinate development:
- To identify skill gaps and along with HR, identify training needs.
- To give on-the-job training to the subordinates.
- To identify training programs for self and team in coordination with HR / unit head.
