Role Overview
We're hiring a Technical Operations Executive who can independently manage, build, and maintain WordPress-based websites as well as custom web applications on the MERN/MEAN stack. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys variety one day debugging a plugin conflict or Elementor widget, the next building a React component or a Node/Express API.
You'll be working directly with clients and internal stakeholders, so strong ownership and communication skills matter as much as technical depth.
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development & Maintenance
- Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites (custom themes, Elementor/Divi, page builders)
- Debug and resolve plugin conflicts, PHP fatal errors, and theme-level issues
- Handle WordPress security incidents - malware cleanup, compromised plugins, unauthorized admin accounts, hardening
- Manage hosting, backups, SSL certificates, and server-side configuration (Apache/Nginx, .htaccess)
- Work with WooCommerce for e-commerce sites where required
- Perform routine AMC-style maintenance: updates, uptime monitoring, performance optimization
MERN/MEAN Stack Development
- Design and build custom web applications using React/Angular, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB
- Develop and consume REST APIs; integrate third-party APIs where needed
- Build responsive, component-based front-end interfaces
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following version control best practices (Git)
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud/VPS environments (e.g., DigitalOcean, Vercel, AWS)
Cross-Cutting
- Translate client requirements into technical specifications and realistic timelines
- Communicate directly with clients on project status, issues, and recommendations
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across different clients/sectors
- Document processes, credentials, and technical decisions clearly for internal handoff
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (theme/plugin development, PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin)
- Proficiency in at least one of MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) or MEAN (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node) stacks
- Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- Experience with Git/GitHub for version control
- Familiarity with REST API design and integration
- Basic server/DevOps knowledge - DNS, SSL, deployment pipelines
- Ability to debug across the stack without hand-holding
Good to Have
- Experience with Elementor, Divi, or other WordPress page builders
- Exposure to Next.js or other React frameworks
- Familiarity with headless CMS setups (WordPress as headless, Payload CMS, Strapi, etc.)
- Experience with Shopify/Liquid
- Understanding of website security practices and incident response
- Prior experience in a client-facing/agency environment
- Basic knowledge of SEO fundamentals and Core Web Vitals
What We're Looking For
- Someone who can own a project end-to-end - from requirement gathering to deployment
- Comfortable working across multiple client verticals (e-commerce, education, NGOs, manufacturing, events)
- Strong problem-solving instincts - able to diagnose issues methodically rather than guess-and-check
- Good written communication - you'll be documenting fixes, writing client updates, and coordinating with a small team
- Genuinely flexible and eager to learn - comfortable picking up new tools, frameworks, and technologies on the job; this role spans multiple stacks and will keep evolving in scope
Why Join Us
- Real ownership from day one - not just ticket-closing
- Exposure to a wide variety of tech stacks and industries
- Small team, flat structure, fast decision-making
- [Add: growth path, learning budget, flexible hours, etc.]
