About the Role
We are looking for a Senior HR Executive with hands-on experience managing HR operations for a blue-collar and factory workforce. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in high-volume/bulk hiring of workmen, contract labor management, shop-floor employee relations, and statutory compliance in a manufacturing/plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Blue Collar & Bulk Hiring
- Manage end-to-end hiring for shop-floor workers, machine operators, technicians, helpers, and supervisors
- Drive bulk/mass hiring drives through local sourcing channels, ITIs, contractors, employment exchanges, and referrals
- Coordinate with production/plant heads to forecast manpower requirements shift-wise and line-wise
- Liaise with labor contractors and manpower agencies to ensure adequate contract workforce availability
- Conduct walk-in interviews, campus drives (ITI/polytechnic), and local recruitment camps
- Contract Labor & Compliance Management
- Manage contract labor lifecycle: onboarding, attendance, wage disbursement verification, and exit
- Ensure compliance under Factories Act, Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, ESI, PF, Minimum Wages Act, and other applicable labor laws
- Handle statutory registers, labor inspections, and audits (internal & government)
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure timely PF/ESI remittance and compliance documentation.
Shop-Floor Employee Relations
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for workmen and union-related matters
- Manage grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and domestic enquiries for workmen
- Support union negotiations, long-term settlements (LTS), and maintain harmonious industrial relations
- Drive employee engagement activities suited for factory/plant workforce (welfare schemes, canteen, transport, safety programs)
HR Operations (Plant/Factory)
- Manage attendance, shift scheduling, leave, and overtime administration through biometric/HRMS systems
- Process payroll inputs for workmen and staff in coordination with finance/payroll team
- Maintain personnel files, service records, and statutory registers as per Factories Act
- Coordinate with EHS team on safety training, PPE compliance, and welfare facilities.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Guide junior HR executives/officers handling plant-level HR activities
- Partner with plant leadership on manpower planning, attrition control, and workforce cost optimization
- Liaise with local administration, labor department, and government authorities as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR, Social Work (MSW), or related field
4–5 years of HR experience, with hands-on exposure to blue collar/factory hiring and shop-floor HR
Strong working knowledge of Factories Act, Contract Labour Act, ESI, PF, and other labor law compliance
Experience managing contract labor and manpower agencies
Proficiency in HRIS/attendance systems (SAP, Zoho People, biometric systems)
Strong grievance handling, union management, and industrial relations skills
Ability to work on the shop floor and directly engage with workmen
Preferred Qualifications
MSW/MBA-HR with specialization in Industrial Relations
Prior experience in manufacturing, FMCG, automotive, or similar industries with large blue-collar workforce
Familiarity with local labor department procedures and union dynamics
