Job Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, employees, hospital assets, and premises. The role involves monitoring access control, patrolling hospital facilities, responding to emergencies, maintaining discipline, and supporting a safe and secure healthcare environment. Candidates with an Ex-Servicemen background are preferred for their discipline, vigilance, and emergency response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control entry and exit of patients, visitors, employees, vendors, and vehicles.
- Conduct routine patrols of hospital premises to ensure safety and security.
- Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire, medical emergencies, accidents, or security incidents.
- Assist in crowd management during peak hours and emergency situations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital security policies and visitor management procedures.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and report suspicious activities.
- Coordinate with hospital departments during emergencies and disaster management drills.
- Maintain security logs, incident reports, and shift records accurately.
- Assist patients, visitors, and staff by providing directions and general support when required.
- Ensure fire safety equipment and emergency exits remain accessible.
- Escort cash, valuables, or sensitive materials when required.
- Report security risks, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns to the Security Supervisor.
- Support NABH safety standards and hospital emergency preparedness initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong observation and vigilance skills.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to stand or patrol for extended periods.
- Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response.
- Basic understanding of fire safety and first aid.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively during emergencies.
- Basic report writing and record-keeping skills.
Preferred Competencies
- Mandatory Ex-Servicemen background (Army, Navy, Air Force, or Paramilitary).
- Experience in hospital, healthcare, industrial, or corporate security is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of CCTV monitoring and access control systems.
- Familiarity with NABH safety and security requirements.
- High level of integrity, discipline, and professionalism.
