Role Description
The Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Agronomy is a full-time, on-site faculty role based in Coimbatore. The role involves designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in agronomy, preparing course materials, and conducting classroom and laboratory instruction. The faculty member will supervise student projects, guide research scholars, and engage in independent and collaborative research leading to publications and funded projects. Daily responsibilities include mentoring students, participating in curriculum development, contributing to departmental committees, and engaging with industry and community stakeholders on agronomy-related initiatives. The role also includes continuous professional development and supporting the university’s mission through outreach, extension activities, and academic service.
Qualifications
- Ph.D in Agronomy with a strong record of teaching or research.
- Demonstrated expertise in areas such as crop production, soil management, sustainable agriculture, plant nutrition, or related agronomic practices.
- Experience in designing and delivering university-level courses, assessing student learning, and using modern pedagogical methods and educational technologies.
- Proven ability to conduct independent and collaborative research, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or funded projects.
- Strong analytical, data interpretation, and field experimentation skills relevant to agronomy and agricultural sciences.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor diverse learners and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ethical academic practices, inclusive teaching, and alignment with the institution’s values and social engagement objectives.
- Prior experience in academic institutions, agricultural extension, or industry collaborations will be considered an advantage.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹130,000.00 per month
