Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and technically sound Sales Engineer to drive the sales of Solar O&M services. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of solar PV systems, excellent customer relationship skills, and the ability to identify, develop, and close long-term O&M service contracts with industrial, commercial, institutional, and utility-scale clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and generate new business opportunities for Solar O&M services.
- Build relationships with EPC companies, solar asset owners, industries, commercial establishments, and institutional clients.
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Conduct cold calls, client meetings, presentations, and networking activities.
Technical Sales
- Understand customer requirements and assess existing solar installations.
- Coordinate with the technical team to prepare O&M proposals and service solutions.
- Explain preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, remote monitoring, performance optimization, thermography, module cleaning, and annual maintenance contracts (AMC).
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Conduct regular follow-ups and negotiate contracts.
- Handle customer queries and coordinate with internal teams for timely execution.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and contract renewals.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and industry trends.
- Identify emerging opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
- Gather customer feedback to improve service offerings.
Coordination
- Work closely with the Operations & Technical teams for project handover.
- Coordinate with Finance for invoicing and payment collection.
- Ensure proper documentation of sales activities using CRM software.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monthly and annual sales targets achieved.
- Number of new O&M contracts secured.
- Revenue generated.
- Customer retention and contract renewals.
- Proposal conversion ratio.
- Lead generation and pipeline growth.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
- MBA (Marketing) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Solar Sales, Solar EPC, or Solar O&M Services.
- Experience in selling Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) or long-term service agreements will be preferred.
