Employer: JAASN Consultants, India
Market-facing company: SCNJTek LLC, California, USA
Location: India—remote
Employment: Full-time
Market focus: United States manufacturing and engineering
Working hours: Regular evening/night overlap with U.S. Eastern and Central business hours
Role objective
JAASN Consultants and SCNJTek are looking for an India-based Business Development Manager to create qualified commercial opportunities in the U.S. industrial market.
This is an outbound business-development role—not a digital-marketing or lead-list-building position.
Your mandate is to:
- Identify suitable U.S. manufacturing and engineering companies.
- Reach relevant decision-makers through telephone, email and LinkedIn.
- Understand and qualify their operational or engineering problems.
- Secure discovery meetings with genuine potential buyers.
- Progress suitable accounts toward diagnostics, proposals, paid pilots, consulting engagements and revenue.
What we take to market
Industrial performance consulting
We help industrial companies diagnose, prioritize, design, validate and implement improvements in manufacturing throughput, engineering productivity and capital-project execution.
ThroughputOps

- Production bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
- Downtime and cycle-time losses.
- Process instability and yield losses.
- Poor equipment utilization.
- Factors limiting throughput, OEE and profitability.
DesignOps
DesignOps helps engineering-intensive businesses improve:
- Engineering and design productivity.
- Design-rule capture and standardization.
- Design reviews and approval workflows.
- Manufacturability and process compliance.
- Rework, cost, quality and delivery performance.
ProjectOps
ProjectOps helps capital-project organizations improve:
- Project schedules and milestone control.
- Procurement and material-status visibility.
- Budget and cost management.
- Approval and decision bottlenecks.
- Project risks, resources and execution discipline.
Engineering and manufacturing support
JAASN and SCNJTek also provide India-based industrial expertise and execution support for qualified U.S. engineering and manufacturing requirements.
Ideal customers
The target market includes:
- Mid-market and enterprise manufacturers.
- Industrial machinery and equipment companies.
- Engineering-led businesses.
- Asset-intensive production companies.
- Capital-project and EPC organizations.
- Companies with multiple plants or complex engineering operations.
Typical buyers and stakeholders include:
- Chief Operating Officers.
- Vice Presidents and Directors of Operations.
- Plant Managers.
- Vice Presidents and Directors of Engineering.
- Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Leaders.
- Project Directors.
- Owners and CEOs of mid-sized industrial companies.
Key responsibilities
1. Account and buyer selection
- Build focused target-account lists by industry, plant and business unit.
- Research each company before outreach.
- Identify operational triggers such as capacity constraints, backlogs, plant expansion, new equipment, engineering delays or project slippage.
- Map the economic buyer, problem owner, technical influencers and likely internal sponsor.
- Prioritize companies with a measurable operational or engineering problem.
2. Multi-channel outbound development
- Conduct account-specific outreach through telephone, email and LinkedIn.
- Use telephone prospecting as a core business-development channel.
- Create personalized messages based on a credible operational hypothesis.
- Follow up professionally through multiple touches.
- Secure discovery meetings with people who own or influence a relevant business problem.
- Avoid generic networking meetings and low-value introductory calls.
3. Qualification and opportunity creation
Determine whether the prospect has:
- A meaningful manufacturing, engineering or project-execution problem.
- Measurable business impact or urgency.
- A suitable use case for JAASN or SCNJTek.
- A relevant internal problem owner.
- Access to required operational or engineering data.
- Commercial potential and a credible buying process.
- A realistic next step and timeline.
The BDM will lead initial business conversations and bring SCNJTek leadership or technical specialists into discussions at the appropriate stage.
The objective is to convert qualified interest into an agreed next action, such as:
- A diagnostic discussion.
- Operational-data review.
- Technical discovery session.
- Commercial proposal.
- Paid diagnostic or pilot.
- Consulting engagement.
4. Pipeline management
- Maintain accurate CRM records.
- Document qualification findings, next steps and follow-up dates.
- Track outreach, responses, meetings, opportunities and conversions.
- Review the pipeline weekly with the founder.
- Identify stalled opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
- Disqualify weak opportunities quickly.
- Feed market objections and buyer language back into the offer and messaging.
Definition of a qualified meeting
A meeting will count as qualified only when it includes:
- A relevant U.S. decision-maker or strong internal influencer.
- A credible operational, engineering or project-related problem.
- Evidence of potential business impact or urgency.
- A reasonable fit with a JAASN or SCNJTek service or product.
- An agreed follow-up action.
Vendor meetings, generic networking calls, job-seeker conversations, unverified leads and meetings without a relevant business problem will not count as qualified meetings.
Performance expectations
The first month will be used for learning, targeting and message validation. Subsequent targets will be calibrated according to industry segment and conversion quality.
Initial post-ramp expectations are:
- 25–40 new target accounts per week: Researched, ICP-fit accounts with a specific reason for contact.
- 8–15 meaningful prospect conversations per month: Live two-way exchanges with relevant stakeholders.
- 4–8 qualified discovery meetings per month: The problem, stakeholder and next step must be confirmed.
- 1–3 sales-qualified opportunities per month: Each opportunity should have a credible route to a diagnostic, proposal, paid pilot or consulting engagement.
Activity volume alone will not determine success. Commercial quality, conversion and opportunity progression will be more important.
Ideal candidate
Essential requirements
- Four to eight years of experience in B2B outbound business development, industrial sales development or new-client acquisition.
- At least two years of experience prospecting into the U.S. market from India or another offshore location.
- Demonstrable success in securing and qualifying meetings with U.S. managers, directors, vice presidents or business owners.
- Comfortable conducting cold calls and live discovery conversations.

- Able to research companies and buyer problems rather than depend entirely on purchased databases.
- Comfortable speaking with senior U.S. industrial decision-makers.
- Able to explain the pipeline personally created, including conversion numbers and examples.
- Disciplined in follow-up, qualification and CRM management.
- Willing to maintain a consistent India evening/night schedule aligned with U.S. prospects.
