Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchase Executive to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials required for our architectural, interior, and civil construction projects. You will act as the vital link between our project sites, vendors, and the finance department to ensure that all materials are procured cost-effectively, meet strict quality standards, and are delivered on time to keep projects on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers for construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, timber), interior finishes (e.g., tiles, laminates, hardware), and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) components.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of approved vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Conduct regular market research to track price trends and identify new, cost-effective, or sustainable material alternatives.
Procurement & Negotiation
- Review bill of quantities (BOQs) and material requisitions from site engineers and project managers.
- Request quotations, prepare comparative statements (CS), and negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
- Generate, process, and track Purchase Orders (POs) through the company’s ERP system.
Coordination & Inventory Tracking
- Coordinate closely with site supervisors and project managers to ensure just-in-time delivery of materials, preventing both site delays and inventory overflow.
- Monitor inventory levels at various project sites and warehouses, facilitating material transfers between sites when necessary.
- Resolve any discrepancies regarding material quality, shortages, or damaged goods directly with suppliers.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and project budgets.
- Cross-verify delivery challans (DCs), Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), and supplier invoices before forwarding them to the finance department for payment processing.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier correspondence.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Industry Experience: Proven track record in procurement within an architectural, interior design, or construction firm. Familiarity with local vendor networks is highly preferred.
- Material Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil construction materials, architectural finishes, and current market rates.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent ability to negotiate favorable terms and prices without compromising on quality.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic ability to read architectural drawings or BOQs is a strong advantage.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving abilities, with a high tolerance for fast-paced project environments.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
