Job Summary:
The Mother Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children in the Pre-Primary section (Nursery, LKG, UKG). The teacher will facilitate holistic development through age-appropriate activities aligned with the CBSE Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) guidelines, fostering children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Follow the CBSE ECCE curriculum and school lesson plans.
- Develop children's foundational literacy, numeracy, communication, and life skills.
- Use activity-based, play-based, and experiential learning methodologies.
- Prepare teaching-learning materials (TLMs) and maintain classroom resources.
- Assess students through continuous observation and maintain progress records.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a warm, positive, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Ensure classroom discipline using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, assemblies, and school events.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards within the classroom.
Student Care
- Attend to students' emotional, physical, and developmental needs.
- Encourage good manners, social interaction, and healthy habits.
- Identify students requiring additional support and report concerns to the Coordinator.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of every child throughout school hours.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address parent queries professionally and promptly.
- Provide suggestions for reinforcing learning at home.
Documentation & Administration
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and activity planners.
- Maintain attendance registers, assessment records, portfolios, and student files.
- Assist in preparing reports, newsletters, and documentation as required.
- Participate in school functions, celebrations, exhibitions, and annual events.
Professional Development
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and staff meetings.
- Stay updated with CBSE ECCE guidelines and innovative teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and share best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (preferred).
- Diploma/Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE), Nursery Teacher Training (NTT), Montessori Training, or equivalent.
- B.Ed. is desirable but not mandatory for pre-primary teaching.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience teaching Nursery, LKG, or UKG in a CBSE or reputed school.
- Freshers with relevant ECCE qualifications and strong communication skills may also apply.
Skills Required
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi/regional language is an advantage).
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude toward young children.
- Creativity in storytelling, art, music, and activity-based learning.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, smart board, online teaching tools).
