Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimation Engineer - Windows (UPVC) to prepare accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for UPVC window and fenestration projects. The role involves close coordination with design, procurement, sales, and project teams to ensure precise quantity take-offs, cost optimization, and successful bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for UPVC windows, doors, and related facade systems based on architectural drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
Create precise 2D drawings, quantity take-offs, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using AutoCAD.
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to calculate material, labor, and total project costs.
Enter and manage all estimation data in the ERP system for accurate tracking and planning.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for competitive pricing, lead times, and technical details of UPVC profiles, glass, hardware, and accessories.
Develop comprehensive technical proposals, budgets, and cost reports.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and perform value engineering while maintaining quality standards.
Support pre-bid and post-bid activities including client queries, clarifications, and risk assessment.
Stay updated with industry standards, material prices, IS codes, wind load calculations, and energy efficiency norms.
Continuously improve estimation processes, templates, and databases.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Civil preferred).
Minimum 4 year of experience in estimation for UPVC windows / doors / aluminum fenestration systems in a manufacturing or contracting company.
Freshers with strong AutoCAD and internship experience in facade/fenestration may also apply.
Required Skills
Mandatory:
Excellent command over AutoCAD (2D drafting, detailing, and quantity extraction).
Hands-on experience with ERP systems for estimation and inventory management.
Preferred:
Knowledge of UPVC window systems, aluminum sections, glass, and hardware.
Strong understanding of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and cost estimation techniques.
Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, data analysis, and costing sheets).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
