Automobile Team Leader – Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Automobile Team Leader oversees daily operations within the service, production, or workshop department of an automotive facility. They are responsible for supervising technicians, ensuring quality workmanship, coordinating workflow, maintaining safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage people and processes effectively.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of automotive technicians or service staff.
- Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure efficient workflow throughout the workshop.
- Provide guidance on complex technical issues and support team members in problem-solving.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching for skill development.
Operational Management
- Ensure all repair and maintenance tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Oversee daily operations, including job distribution, quality checks, and compliance with company standards.
- Monitor productivity and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate with parts, service advisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Inspect work performed by technicians to ensure it meets quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workshop environment.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, warranty procedures, and company policies.
Customer Service & Communication
- Collaborate with service advisors to address customer concerns and provide technical explanations when needed.
- Handle escalated customer issues professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate progress, delays, or technical requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and support continuous learning for team members.
- Conduct technical training sessions, workshops, and safety meetings.
- Stay updated on new automotive technologies, tools, and repair procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience using automotive service software and workshop management tools
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (ASE or OEM) preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in an automotive technician or supervisory role
Work Environment
- Automotive dealership, service center, or workshop setting
- Fast-paced, hands-on environment with frequent interactions with technicians and service staff
- May require weekend or extended hours depending on business needs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
