Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and academically accomplished Associate Professor in Physiotherapy to join our academic and clinical team. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching, clinical training, student mentoring, research, academic administration, and curriculum-related activities. The candidate should demonstrate strong subject knowledge, clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to quality education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Academic Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and demonstrations for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, presentations, and practical teaching resources.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, viva-voce, and other academic evaluations.
- Ensure effective implementation of the prescribed curriculum and academic schedule.
- Mentor and guide students in academic and professional development.
- Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and departmental meetings.
2. Clinical Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide students during clinical postings and patient care activities.
- Conduct clinical assessments and demonstrate appropriate physiotherapy treatment techniques.
- Ensure students follow appropriate clinical protocols, professional ethics, and patient-safety standards.
- Coordinate with hospitals and clinical training centres for student postings.
- Encourage evidence-based physiotherapy practice and clinical decision-making.
3. Research & Development
- Initiate and participate in research projects in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, seminars, and academic presentations.
- Publish research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, seminars, FDPs, and continuing professional development programmes.
- Contribute to departmental research and institutional academic initiatives.
4. Student Development & Mentoring
- Provide academic counselling and career guidance to students.
- Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Encourage participation in conferences, workshops, sports activities, health camps, and community-based rehabilitation programmes.
- Support students in developing clinical, communication, research, and professional skills.
5. Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Department in academic and administrative activities.
- Prepare departmental reports, academic records, lesson plans, workload statements, and other documentation.
- Participate in institutional committees, accreditation activities, inspections, and quality-assurance initiatives.
- Coordinate departmental seminars, workshops, guest lectures, CME programmes, and academic events.
- Maintain proper records related to teaching, clinical training, research, and student activities.
Educational Qualification
- Master’s Degree (MPT) in the relevant specialization from a recognized university/institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognized institution.
- Ph.D. in Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation or a relevant allied discipline will be an added advantage.
- Valid professional registration with the applicable competent authority/council, wherever required.
Experience:
- Relevant teaching and clinical experience in Physiotherapy.
- Experience in teaching undergraduate/postgraduate physiotherapy students will be preferred.
- Demonstrated research experience and publications will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience in academic administration and clinical coordination will be preferred.
