Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Android Developer with experience in Android Auto & Apple CarPlay for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Java-based Android middleware and application modules, implementing new features, fixing software defects, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in compliance with ASPICE standards.
The role also involves developing automated test cases, improving code quality through reusable software components, resolving technical debt, and working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust automotive infotainment solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment
- Develop and maintain Java-based Android application and middleware modules for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
- Implement new features and resolve software defects.
- Align software with the latest Android releases and automotive specifications.
- Identify and resolve technical debt to improve software quality and code reusability.
- Follow ASPICE-compliant software development processes and Agile methodologies.
- Adopt AI-assisted development practices to improve development efficiency and quality.
Testing
- Develop and maintain automated interface and feature test cases.
- Execute testing on hardware platforms and bench setups.
- Ensure software quality through comprehensive validation and verification.
Bug Fixing
- Analyze, debug, and resolve customer-reported and internal software issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement robust fixes with minimal supervision.
Customer Support
- Participate in customer discussions, issue analysis, clarification meetings, and joint debugging sessions.
- Provide technical support during customer integrations and issue resolution.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Java and Android Application/Middleware Development.
- Good knowledge of C++.
- Experience with Android Framework, Binder IPC, AIDL, HAL, System Services, SELinux, and Android startup sequence.
- Experience with Vehicle HAL (VHAL) and Android Car Service.
- Good understanding of Android USB, Audio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Networking stacks.
- Experience working on ARM-based platforms with strong debugging and profiling skills.
- Experience in developing Automated Test Cases.
- Knowledge of ASPICE-compliant software development.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Python scripting.
- Experience in Android Auto or Apple CarPlay development.
- Automotive domain experience, preferably in IVI systems.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Exposure to AI-assisted software development practices.
