Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated MS SQL Server Database Administrator to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing 24x7 support for all the Production databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. This role involves working closely with application, development and all other IT teams to manage and maintain the database infrastructure. This role involves working closely with application, development and all other IT teams to manage and maintain the database infrastructure.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nKey Responsibilities: \\\\r\\\\n• Database Administration: \\\\r\\\\n• Provide 24x7 production support for the SQL Server database.\\\\r\\\\n• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances.\\\\r\\\\n• Configure and manage Windows Clusters, Always-On for high availability.\\\\r\\\\n• Should be able to handle the critical issues and resolve with no or minimum downtime.\\\\r\\\\n• Need to have good communication skills and mentor the team members.\\\\r\\\\n• Security and Permissions: \\\\r\\\\n• Set up logins, permissions, and security policies.\\\\r\\\\n• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.\\\\r\\\\n• Maintenance and Monitoring: \\\\r\\\\n• Configure and manage the maintenance jobs for backup, DBCC and index rebuild.\\\\r\\\\n• Monitor and troubleshoot locks, blockings, and long-running sessions.\\\\r\\\\n• Configure and monitor to resolve drive space issues for Data, Log, TempDB, and Backup drives.\\\\r\\\\n• Set up and manage Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, Always-On Availability Groups.\\\\r\\\\n• Performance and Optimization: \\\\r\\\\n• Perform index rebuild and database patch at regular interval aligning to the site downtime.\\\\r\\\\n• Monitor the resource usage and optimize to improve performance.\\\\r\\\\n• Backup and Recovery: \\\\r\\\\n• Configure the backup to meet the business requirement and monitor free space, alerts, and server logs.\\\\r\\\\n• Need to have better understanding about the 3rd party backup tools.\\\\r\\\\n• Implement and test disaster recovery plans.\\\\r\\\\n• Documentation and Reporting: \\\\r\\\\n• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and procedures.\\\\r\\\\n• Generate reports and provide insights on database performance and health checks.\\\\r\\\\n• Customer Support: \\\\r\\\\n• Provide Support on customer requests and system raised incidents.\\\\r\\\\n• Well aware of ITIL procedure to implement the change in production in a timely manner.\\\\r\\\\n• Collaboration and Communication: \\\\r\\\\n• Use ticketing tools to monitor and manage the ticket queue.\\\\r\\\\n• Monitor emails and notifications for database-related issues.\\\\r\\\\n• Collaborate effectively with the infrastructure teams.\\\\r\\\\n• Provide 24x7shift coverage and act as shift lead when required.\\\\r\\\\n• Should be able to manage the P1 critical, troubleshooting calls to provide quicker resolution and update the status at regular interval.\\\\r\\\\n• Prepare the RCA documentation to include all the processes and procedures followed during the troubleshoot to resolve the issue.\\\\r\\\\n• Additional Mandatory Skills: \\\\r\\\\n• Proven experience in supporting

Other Requirement : • Proven experience in supporting SQL Server 24x7 production environment. • Strong knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance. • Expertise in Windows Clustering and Always On Availability Groups (AOAG). • Proficiency in analyzing to optimize and resolve performance tuning. • Familiarity with SQL Server and TempDB configuration. • Knowledge on 3rd party tools such as SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer for monitoring, CommVault for backup etc., • Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, TSQL and stored procedures) for automation. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and documentation skills. • Expertise in migration and upgrading the SQL Server instance.
