About AIC ISB
ISB AIC is the incubation and acceleration arm of Indian School of Business set up in collaboration with the NITI Aayog, Government of India. It aims to support the creation of a vibrant and high impact entrepreneurial ecosystem focused on innovation in key sectors like manufacturing, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare and education. The ISB AIC will have world-class incubation facilities. ISB AIC also leverages the vast resources, expertise and networks of I-Venture @ ISB through mentorship, education and investor connect.
ISB is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for the position of CEO. The CEO would be responsible for the success of Incubation Center. Together, the Board of Directors, I-Venture @ ISB and the CEO assure the accomplishment of ISB AIC’s mission and vision, and the accountability to its diverse constituents. The CEO will play a key role in the development and scaling of business ventures through the use of planning, research, analysis, collaboration, promotion, and execution.
Some of the specific responsibilities include:
Leadership and Management

Responsible for AIC strategic direction, overall leadership and management.

Responsible for the financial sustainability of the AIC. Actively recruit new partners and clients that will provide funding for AIC strategic initiatives and operations.

Report on progress against business plan to the Board

Identify and support additional revenue sources to support incubator/ accelerator operations.

Plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations of the AIC

Develop and deploy a process from start-up recruitment to graduation.

Assures a smoothly functioning, efficient organization of the operating team

Build and cultivate collaborative relationships with external partners, including universities, innovation centers, start-ups, incubators, mentors, investors and other consultants

Set the direction for corporate engagement and oversee the engagement between start-ups and corporate clients.

Mentor, coach entrepreneurs and managers of portfolio companies: sharing best practices and experiences to accelerate development and ensure successful growth
Investments

Identify trends and investment opportunities for AIC and its start-ups Structure investment with co-investors and actively expand networking with potential partners. (startups, venture capitals, and corporates etc.)

Focus on the investment strategy and manage the investment process (scan, invest, accelerate). Lead the entire investment process including financial analysis, valuation, quantitative and qualitative due diligence on prospective incubates.

Monitor current investments, review the transaction documents, engage in post-investment management and reporting.
Job Requirements

Post graduate in Engineering/ Management, preferably from a University of global reputation
-
10+ years of experience working in reputed organisations or in academia in leadership position
-
Proven record in conceptualizing, executing, and growing business

Requisite network in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Proven experience of successful engagement and working with startups/entrepreneurs and assessing the feasibility of ventures ;

Excellent knowledge of startup acceleration and startup investments

An in-depth understanding of the challenges and also the opportunities encountered by entrepreneurs and startups

Established working relationships with significant enablers, influencers and stakeholders in the start-up industry, both locally and preferably also internationally

Proven leadership experience

Business development experience in terms of raising significant sponsorship and developing strategic relationships;

An established history of project delivery involving the acquisition of clients or funding for projects.
