Data Analyst Job DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will transform raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions and strategy. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with data tools, and the ability to communicate complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & Reporting: Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that track key performance indicators. Conduct statistical analysis to support business initiatives and strategic planning.
Business Intelligence: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions. Provide data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency, enhance decision-making, and identify growth opportunities.
Data Management: Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation and quality control processes. Design and maintain databases, data systems, and data collection procedures. Document analytical methodologies and create repeatable processes for routine reporting.
Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and compelling narratives. Collaborate with department leaders to define success metrics and measurement frameworks.
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related role (adjust based on seniority level).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, macros)
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Working knowledge of statistical analysis and programming languages (Python, R)
Understanding of database structures and data warehousing concepts
Analytical Competencies: Strong statistical and quantitative analysis skills with attention to detail. Ability to identify data quality issues and implement solutions. Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with a results-oriented mindset.
Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong organizational skills with capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Collaborative team player with ability to work independently.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a quantitative field
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools
Familiarity with machine learning concepts
Industry-specific experience (commercial real estate, finance, healthcare, etc.)
Certifications in relevant tools or methodologies
