Job Summary:
The Technical Writer collects and analyzes technical information and then develops and publishes documentation and other forms of user assistance based on that information. This position gains exposure to some of the complex tasks in the job function and may take on duties that fall slightly outside of the writing portion of the job, including but not limited to video production to support internal communications and knowledge base content.
Essential Functions:

Produces a wide range of documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience, supporting planned and unplanned product releases.

Ensures documents are technically and mechanically accurate, and consistent about clarity, flow, organization, completeness, and readability.

Organizes key sections, tables, screenshots, and attachments.

Stores, manages, and tracks draft revisions on company repositories until final drafts are completed.

Organizes multiple simultaneous projects and requests.

Acquires increasing subject knowledge through various methods including, but not limited to interviewing technical specialists, communicating with development team members, researching applicable topics, and demonstrating functionality by using the application.

Works with software developers, product managers, and SMEs to obtain an understanding of the product and documentation requirements.

Creates and edits communications in a variety of formats (video, PowerPoint, PDF, and written summaries) to convey software updates and feature releases to internal teams in a clear and timely manner.

Produces instructional and informational videos for embedding within the knowledge base to complement and enhance written documentation.

Adheres to company and team policies and procedures.

Works effectively within a team structure to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation.

Preferred Skills:

Experience leveraging AI tools to assist in the creation, drafting, or optimization of technical documentation.

Familiarity with video production tools and screen recording software (e.g., Camtasia, Loom, Adobe Premiere, or similar).
Required Education/Experience:

Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism or Technical Communications

3-5 years of related experience
