Job Summary
Cognowiz is hiring a skilled Senior Data Analyst with 5+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, and dashboard development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, Excel, Power BI, data visualization, and stakeholder communication, with the ability to convert complex data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple business and technical sources.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards using Power BI or similar tools.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Analyze trends, patterns, performance metrics, and business processes to identify opportunities and risks.
- Create advanced Excel reports using pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, charts, and data models.
- Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Monitor data quality, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of reports.
- Prepare recurring, operational, management, and ad hoc reports.
- Define, calculate, and maintain business metrics and key performance indicators.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Automate manual reporting processes and recommend improvements to data workflows.
- Document data sources, business rules, calculations, dashboards, and reporting procedures.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, project managers, and business teams.
- Support data testing, report validation, user acceptance testing, and production issue resolution.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to analytics best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, views, and performance optimization.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, conditional formulas, charts, and data analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or another business intelligence and visualization platform.
- Strong understanding of data cleaning, validation, transformation, reporting, and visualization.
- Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate clear, actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
- Knowledge of Power Query, DAX, and Power BI data modeling.
- Experience with data warehouses, cloud databases, APIs, or enterprise data platforms.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration concepts.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Relevant certifications in SQL, Power BI, data analytics, or business intelligence.
Pay: ₹305,554.86 - ₹1,310,333.60 per year
