Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction & Delivery: Teach English language concepts including grammar, vocabulary, writing composition, reading comprehension, and literary analysis.
- Lesson Planning: Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and tailored to students’ needs.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate student understanding using quizzes, tests, essays, assignments, and oral presentations.
- Feedback & Improvement: Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their language and analytical skills.
- Classroom Management: Maintain discipline and encourage a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that supports learning.
- Parental Communication: Collaborate with parents/guardians through regular updates, meetings, and reports regarding academic progress and behavioural concerns.
- Student Support: Offer additional help to students facing difficulties through one-on-one guidance, remedial sessions, or differentiated instruction strategies.
- Curriculum Contribution: Participate in reviewing and updating the English curriculum to align with academic goals and current educational trends.
- Extracurricular Engagement: Encourage and mentor students in co-curricular activities such as debates, public speaking, creative writing, and drama.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other subject teachers and school staff to plan interdisciplinary projects or events.
- Professional Development: Attend training sessions, workshops, and educational conferences to enhance teaching practices and stay current with pedagogical innovations.
- Use of Technology: Integrate digital tools, e-learning platforms, and multimedia resources to enhance lesson delivery and student interaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field is essential.
- Experience: Prior experience teaching English, particularly in the middle or secondary school levels, is highly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
