Role Overview
We are launching a new vertical in the research publishing ecosystem and are looking for an Academic Publishing Specialist who understands how journal publishing works end-to-end.
This role is ideal for someone who can execute, experiment, and contribute ideas to build and scale a publishing-focused project from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Drive author acquisition and manuscript submissions through academic outreach
Coordinate with authors, editors, and reviewers across the publishing lifecycle
Support journal selection, submission, and peer review processes
Build and engage with research communities and academic networks
Assist in launching and scaling new publishing initiatives, campaigns, or partnerships
Work closely with internal teams to improve workflows and increase publication success rates
What We’re Looking For
2–5 years of experience in academic publishing / journal operations / research support
Strong understanding of research publishing workflows and journal ecosystems
Ability to handle ambiguity and contribute to building a new project
Proactive mindset with ideas for growth, outreach, and partnerships
Strong communication skills for working with researchers and global audiences
Good to Have
Exposure to Scopus / Web of Science journals
Experience in author communication, submissions, or editorial coordination
Interest in building something from 0 to 1
