WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Supply Chain & Planning Technology (SCPT) Engineering team in the sub-domain of Supply, Sourcing & Manufacturing (SSM), leading leading the development of Nike’s Supply & Materials Planning, Finished Goods & Materials Costing & Sourcing, Factory Floor Systems, Product Integrity, Direct Procurement and Suppier Collaboration platforms and experiences at Nike's India Technology Center (ITC). You will report to the Senior Director of Technology SCPT-SSM and partner directly with local and global Business Operations, Technology Product and Engineering leadership lead, support and develop team members, manage priorities and create results across boundaries. You will also collaborate closely with SCPT central function leaders (Program Operations, Business Operations & Enablement, Quality Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering) and counterparts across Supply Chain & Planning Ops and Technology teams based in the US (PHK) and SE Asia (with the Central Hub in Singapore but spread across multiple countries).
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to join our team in Bengaluru, India to establish our engineering and product presence in ITC from the existing small footprint into a fully-formed organization which can build and deliver our product roadmaps in for SSM jointly with our PHK and Singapore based teams. The right person is a strong people leader who can develop talent in ITC, a thoughtful operator who knows how to stand up new teams and build credible partnership with our technology and operations partners. This role will help us set the right culture for our new team in ITC and help us evolve the ways of working to embed our ITC team with our existing presence in US and SE Asia. They bring high EQ, comfort operating across cultural and time zone boundaries, and the maturity to lead people within a matrix org.
The Director of Engineering will lead, support and develop team members, manage priorities and create results across boundaries. The successful candidate is an inclusive and empowering leader with a history of enabling agile teams to solve technical problems in a product model, including building scalable platforms, strong data foundations, and user applications.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
Extensive experience leading Engineering Managers and large engineering organizations.
Deep expertise in global supply chain applications and enterprise resource planning systems.
Proven success delivering enterprise-scale, production software systems in complex business environments.
Strong background in serverless architectures and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services)
Proven DevOps experience — continuous integration and continuous delivery, GitHub, and managing distributed applications.
Proficiency across modern and legacy technologies, including Java/React/Node.js,/Visual Basic/.Net and RESTful application programming interfaces.
Experience with data platforms and stores — Databricks, NoSQL (Azure Cosmos DB), Amazon Simple Storage Service, and relational databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL)
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Amazon CloudWatch and Azure Application Insights.
Experience building or leading artificial intelligence and machine learning-driven supply chain applications.
Ability to guide teams on responsible use of artificial intelligence-assisted development tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
Strong systems thinking across cloud, data, DevOps, and agile delivery environments.
Executive-level communication and stakeholder influence skills.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
This role will lead engineering teams delivering critical supply , sourcing and manufacturing platforms, partnering with business leaders to shape priorities and tradeoffs, while owning delivery, reliability, and architecture, improve our data foundation, driving DevOps and AI/ML adoption, and ensuring scalable, high-quality solutions across global teams.
Your responsibilities include:
Lead Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, and senior technical leaders across multiple teams delivering critical supply and manufacturing platforms.
Partner with product and business leaders to shape requirements, priorities, and tradeoffs — not only execute a roadmap handed to engineering.
Setup and lead a technology delivery organization which rapidly innovates and delivers business value at speed and scale.
Own delivery, reliability, and evolution of mission-critical platforms, including enterprise resource planning and global supply chain applications.
Drive architectural alignment and engineering excellence across cloud, serverless, data, and application teams.
Establish strong DevOps practices — continuous integration and continuous delivery, GitHub workflows, and disciplined production support and escalation models.
Lead artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives that improve supply chain planning, execution, and decision-making.
Oversee vendor and extended team worker delivery with the same quality, tracking, and knowledge-transfer expectations as full-time employee teams.
Build effective leadership and delivery rhythm across United States and India sites.
Serve as incident lead for high-severity production incidents — coordinate technical leads, communicate with stakeholders, authorize remediation, and confirm business resolution.
Inspect and improve delivery, reliability, cost, observability, and team health metrics with your leadership team.
