Job Summary
Android native development (Kotlin/Java)
Strong understanding of Android framework, AIDL, Gradle, system-level debugging
Comfortable with GitLab/Gerrit workflows, Linux command line, shell scripting
Proficient in Android Studio, Logcat, profiling & debugging tools
Experience with multi-module projects and large codebases
Preferred Skills
Android TV platform experience
Broadcast/streaming media playback (ExoPlayer, media frameworks)
Content protection systems (DRM, conditional access)
Real-time systems & low-latency debugging
CI/CD pipeline knowledge (Jenkins, Gerrit)
Technical Focus Areas
TV Service Architecture – Multi-module microservices, AIDL-based IPC, client-server patterns
Media & Playback – Media engine integration, codec handling, subtitle/teletext support
Broadcast Integration – Signal handling, content signalling, application triggering
Content Protection – DRM integration, conditional access module (CAM) communication
Platform Variants – Supporting multiple SoCs (ARM, x86) and hardware configurations
CI/Build Systems – Release automation, quality gates, testing infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
1. To maintain existing features, troubleshoot bugs , resolve ad-hoc requests and provide support for enhancement (major and minor) /new developments based on business/ client requirements as well as from the functional and technical team of HCL on the project.
2. To provide client support by presenting data, information, ticket resolution and day to day support activities like monitoring client requirements as well as keeping track of schedule for on time delivery of assigned tasks as per the defined quality standards.
3. To perform activities related to enhancement creation of documents for CMMi and client requirements
4. To provide technical guidance to junior developers
5. To interact with the customer and internal teams to gather requirements for development purposes.
