Freelance Faculty / Career Mentor / Student Counsellor
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and student-friendly Freelance Faculty/Career Mentor who can go beyond academics and become a trusted mentor for students.
The ideal candidate should have a strong rapport with students, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand a student's strengths, interests, challenges, and career aspirations.
This role is not limited to classroom teaching. The mentor will help students make better decisions regarding skills, careers, higher education, internships, projects, placements, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Practical Learning
- Deliver engaging and practical technical/academic sessions.
- Explain concepts using real-world examples and industry scenarios.
- Encourage students to work on projects and practical assignments.
- Help students understand how academic knowledge is applied in the industry.
2. Career Counselling
- Understand individual student career goals and interests.
- Guide students on suitable career paths and technology domains.
- Help students identify skill gaps and create a learning roadmap.
- Advise students regarding jobs, internships, certifications, higher education, and career opportunities.
- Keep students aware of relevant industry trends and changing technology requirements.
3. Student Mentoring
- Build a strong and positive relationship with students.
- Act as a mentor and approachable career guide.
- Conduct regular one-to-one or small-group mentoring sessions.
- Motivate students who are struggling academically or professionally.
- Help students develop confidence, communication skills, professionalism, and a growth mindset.
4. Beyond Academics
The mentor should help students develop skills that are essential for long-term career success:
- Communication & presentation skills

5. Student Engagement & Community
- Maintain a healthy rapport with students even outside regular classroom sessions.
- Encourage students to participate in workshops, hackathons, projects, internships, and industry activities.
- Create an environment where students feel comfortable discussing their academic and career concerns.
- Become a trusted point of contact for student career-related guidance.

Preferred Experience
- Teaching/training experience in a college, training institute, university, or corporate environment.
- Experience mentoring students or freshers.
- Industry experience will be an added advantage.
- Experience in career counselling, placement training, or student development is preferred.
- Strong student network/rapport is highly desirable.
