The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all PEB fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly activities comply with approved quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes. The role involves inspection, documentation, quality control monitoring, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming material inspection and verification of raw materials as per applicable specifications and standards.
- Conduct stage-wise and final inspection of fabricated PEB components to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Monitor welding activities and ensure adherence to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Verify dimensional accuracy of fabricated structural members as per approved drawings and tolerances.
- Inspect surface preparation, painting, and coating thickness in accordance with project specifications.
- Prepare, maintain, and control quality records, inspection reports, test reports, and checklists.
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in internal quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, quality plans, and inspection test plans (ITP) prior to production.
- Monitor calibration status and proper usage of measuring and testing instruments.
- Possess knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as RT, UT, MT, and PT; certification will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrate knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW.
- Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes and standards, including ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1.
- Apply knowledge of structural steel codes, standards, and quality requirements relevant to PEB fabrication.
- Utilize quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Coordinate and effectively deal with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies during inspections and audits.
- Handle customer complaints, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor quality performance indicators and drive initiatives to reduce Cost of Quality (COQ), rework, and rejection rates.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
