Job Summary
Zed Engineers is hiring an experienced Purchase Manager / Executive for its Guwahati office to manage procurement and vendor coordination for ongoing construction and RCC building projects. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction material procurement, vendor management, purchase documentation, and coordination with project sites.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely procurement of materials, maintaining cost efficiency, and supporting uninterrupted project execution across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement of construction materials, tools, machinery, and site requirements
- Obtain quotations, compare rates, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors
- Ensure timely supply of materials to project sites as per project requirements
- Maintain purchase records, invoices, stock reports, and vendor databases
- Coordinate with site engineers, stores, and management teams for material planning
- Monitor material quality, delivery schedules, and cost control
- Preparation of purchase orders and follow-up with suppliers for timely delivery
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors
Eligibility Criteria
- Any Graduate
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the Construction Sector
- Experience in Govt./PWD/CPWD project procurement will be preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and procurement procedures
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and purchase documentation
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple site requirements simultaneously
