Introduction
We run a Holistic Child Development program through play. Kids engage in gross-motor activities and games while also working on self-development. We look at sports & games as an avenue for a full-rounded child development.
While our field coaches focus on physical and motor skill development, we believe that true growth happens across all domains: physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and communicative. We are looking to bring a dedicated Observer onto our team to ensure we capture and celebrate every aspect of a child's development.
Role Description
We are seeking an observant, analytical, and empathetic Early Childhood Educator to join our team as an Observation Specialist. In this role,
- you will not be coaching or leading the play sessions. Instead, your sole focus will be to attend live sessions periodically, observe children as they rotate through varying environments and evaluate their non-motor development.
- you will use structured questionnaires alongside your own expert field notes to translate these observations into specific, meaningful, and actionable feedback for parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Active Observation: Attend assigned sessions and silently observe groups of children without disrupting the flow of the class or the field coaches.
- Detailed Documentation: Fill out highly specific, pre-designed evaluation rubrics covering social dynamics, cognitive skills, emotional regulation, and communication.
- Expert Insight: Utilize the flexible sections of our reporting tools to add your own qualitative field notes, capturing micro-interactions that a standardized form might miss.
- Parent-Facing Reporting: Synthesize your raw notes into polished, parent-friendly feedback reports that provide tangible, written receipts of the child's holistic growth.
- Coach Collaboration: Briefly sync with the on-field coaches post-session to align on any critical behavioral incidents, ensuring a united front.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Background in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, Montessori or similar teaching pedagogy, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience observing, assessing, or working with young children (ages 4-8).
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to write professional, encouraging, and highly specific reports for parents.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to track multiple children simultaneously in a high-energy, dynamic outdoor/indoor setting.
- Ability to travel to different program locations, within Chennai, as required by the observation schedule.
Pay: ₹200.00 - ₹400.00 per hour
